Abstract
1,060,471. Valves. GENEVAC Ltd. Oct. 16, 1963 [July 27, 1962], No. 28850/62. Heading F2V. A valve actuating mech- anism comprises a support pillar 12, guide formations 11 in the support pillar, a crank assembly 13 pivotally secured at 17 to a valve actuating rod 16 and having one or more bearing members 14 extending therefrom and engaging the guide formations, the or each bearing member defining an axis which is parallel to but spaced from the axis of the connection between the crank assembly and the actuating rod, and means 18 whereby the crank assembly is movable between first and second positions corresponding to open and closed conditions of the valve, each bearing member moving longitudinally in its guide formation. The valve is spring-biased and the crank assembly moves " over-centre " during actuation. The bearing members 14 may extend inwardly to engage a correspondingly modified guide.
