Abstract

1286950 Valves G KROMSCHRODER AG 29 Dec 1970 [9 Jan 1970] 61672/70 Heading F2V [Also in Division H1] An electromagnetically operated valve comprises an armature 23 formed as a piston moving in a cylinder 21 filled with retarding fluid, the armature including a ring 24 and a disc 25 both made of a material whose coefficient of expansion is at least ten times that of the material of which the cylinder is made. The cylinder may be made of aluminium and the disc and ring of polyacetal. The retarding means (3) may be separate from the armature (Fig. 1, not shown) in which case the piston can be made wholly of polyacetal. The construction achieves the same retarding effect over a wide range of temperature.
