Abstract

1,059,043. Copying. G. SERAFINO, A. SERAFINO, and G. SERAFINO, [trading as F. LLI SERAFINO]. March 10, 1965 [Dec.30 1964], No. 10126/65. Heading B3T. Copying apparatus (the Fig. not shown), for a machine tool such as a lathe, comprises links (6), (26), (29) and (30) pivotally formed to form a first parallelogram (5) and links (9), (14), (9<SP>1</SP>) and (15) similarly joined forming a second parallelogram (11). The parallelogram linkages (5) and (11) are connected by an extension (7) of the link (6) which is pivotally mounted on link (9), of the second parallelogram (11), carrying the tracer (10). The first parallelogram is,pivotally attached to a cross-slide (1) and the second parallelogram is connected by extension (18) and (19) of the links (14) and (15)respcctively to a longitudinal tool-carrying slide (22) at right-angles to the cross-slide (1). The toolcarrying slide (22) carries pivot mounting (24) with a revolving head (25) which is locatable on the long link (26) of the first parallelogram (a). The size-ratio between the template (27) and the workpiece (28) is determined by the location of the head (25) on the link (26). The linkage described facilitates the machining of the workpiece (28) by a cutting-tool mounted in the holder (23), in accordance with the path of the tracer (10) on the template (27) in a predetermined size ratio.
