A load to be transported is secured to apertured lugs on a member 10 which is slidable in a vertical guide 14 rotatably mounted on a pin 42 carried by the wheeled unit 34. The load is secured to the member 10 whilst in its lowered position and the hydraulic or other jack 74 is extended to lift the load into the travelling position.
