Abstract
1,123,268. Master lift-trucks. TSENTRALNOE KONSTRUKTORSKOE BJURO PROEKTIR - OVANIYA ELEKTROPOGRUZCHIKOV S EKSPERIMENTALNOI BAZOI. 31 Oct., 1966, No. 48696/66. Heading B8H. A fork lift truck comprises a mast 2, Fig. 1, mounted on a frame 1 for horizontal movement longitudinally of the frame, and a storage battery 3 mounted on rollers 7 on the frame and adapted to be connected to the mast 2 so that the battery can be moved by the mast between a working position and a servicing position. The battery 3 is connected to the drive of the truck through wires 9 and a plug 10. Members 13, Figs. 3 and 4, are rotatably mounted on the battery 3 for movement between a position in which they retain the battery in its working- position by engaging behind stops 16 on the frame and a position in which they engage in brackets 20 on the mast for movement therewith. Lateral movement of the battery is limited by straps 14 thereon and forward movement by a stop (15) on the frame, Fig. 2 (not shown). The mast has rollers 18 engaging frame members 19 and is moved by an hydraulic cylinder (not shown). In a modification, Fig. 6, the members 13 are replaced by members 22 each of which is selectively engageable in two holes in a bracket 21 on the battery 3. When each member 22 is engaged in one of the holes and in an aligned hole in the frame 1, Fig. 5 (not shown), the battery is retained in its working position, and when the member 22 is engaged in the other hole and extends through a bracket 23 on the mast the battery can be moved. The battery may be mounted on slides 24 secured to the frame.
