Abstract

1333235 Masted lift trucks F BENGEL A SAUTER and U SAUTER [trading as ALBERT IRION NACHFOLGER] 23 Oct 1970 [6 Feb 1970] 50439/70 Heading B8H In a side-operating lift truck in which the mast assembly 8 is mounted on a carriage 4 for movement transversely of the truck, the mast assembly is mounted so as to be adjustable about a vertical axis for picking up loads which are not parallel with the longitudinal axis of the truck. In the embodiment shown. Fig. 2, the mast 8 is pivoted about an axis 6 on the carriage 4 by means of a double-acting ram 10. A device 11, actuated by a cam on. the carriage 4, is provided to interconnect the chambers of the ram 10, when the carriage 4 is retracted, thereby preventing slewing of the mast. In a second embodiment, Fig. 4 (not shown), the mast is secured to a carriage which is mounted so as to be capable of limited slewing relative to the tracks on. which it runs.
