1,056,548. Seaming non-metallic sheet material. CLOUD MACHINE CORPORATION. May 28, 1964 [June 26, 1963], No. 22133/64. Heading B5K. [Also in Division B8] A packaging machine (see Division B8), includes a heat sealer for closing filled pockets formed along a continuous web and a shears for separating individual packages from the web. Heat sealer.-The sealer 22 (Fig. 6), for closing the filled pockets 13c has a fixed block 71 with heating element 72 and a hinged plate 68b carrying a sealer jaw 70, the assembly being movable to the elevated position shown dotted in Fig. 6. The pocketed strip is pulled between the jaw 70 and the block 71 by feed rollers 74, 75 (Fig. 1, not shown). Shears.-The web is fed via an indexing drum 23 (Fig. 8, not shown), and rolls 24 across a fixed blade 99 for cutting by a blade 98 rotating with a shaft 96.
