Abstract

1335394 Shearing; feeding metal sheets BRITISH IRON & STEEL RESEARCH ASSOCIATION 1 Oct 1971 [2 Oct 1970] 47015/70 Heading B3W [Also in Division B8] A metal sheet 56 cut to the desired length and width by a guillotine 31 and slitting means 10 is fed on to a driven roller conveyer 4 and into the path of a body 57 to be wrapped by the sheet. The sheet, with optionally a sheet of damp-proof paper on top, is fed from a coil by rollers 21, 22 to a counter 41 which, after the desired length has been fed, operates the guillotine and raises the drive roller 21. The slitting means comprise a pair of blades 11 laterally adjustable on a shaft 16. The apparatus may be run automatically. The body 57 may be a stack of metal sheets which may be wrapped by the apparatus disclosed in Specification 1,250,707.
