1350524 Removing finished work L SCHULER GmbH 30 March 1972 [31 March 1971] 15033/72 Heading B3W Apparatus for forming perforated plates, e.g. stator laminations from metal strip comprises a punch press 2, 3, a shear 8 for successively severing from the strip individual plates each having had a central aperture punched out in it, a conveyer 9 for receiving the plates in overlapping relation and means for holding up the leading end of the strip which will form the next plate and preventing it sagging on to the conveyer until on shearing of the plate the holding means cause plate to fall on to the conveyer trailing end first. The holding means comprise magnetized rollers 11 so spaced and dimensioned that at the end of the feed stroke of the strip the rollers nearest the shear are above the aperture in the plate which is held only by engagement of the leading roller with the leading edge of the aperture, the trailing end of the plate being thrust down by the upper shear blade during the shearing stroke and landing on the conveyer before the magnetic attraction between the leading end of the plate and the leading roller is broken. The rollers are individually adjustable in the vertical direction in a guide plate 13 itself adjustable in the horizontal direction.
