An inking roller is supported on bearings in a bearing holder 5 (Figs. 2 and 3, not shown) mounted displaceably by means of a toggle joint 7, Figs. 1 and 2 (not shown), on a guide column 6 which is shiftable vertically by means of a nut 11 on a bearing plate 1 pivoted on the machine frame by a pivot 2 and adjustable angularly by means of an eccentric bolt 3 mounted in the frame. A roller lock 8 is rotatably secured to the holder 5 and is provided with an opening handle 9. The column 6 can be adjusted vertically after screws 10 have been loosensed. After unlocking the toggle joint, the roller can be lifted off in the direction of the column from any point within the trapezoidal zone of adjustment produced by the movements of the column and the plate 1. For countering abnormal pressure which might destroy the roller, one of the toggle levers is deformed to allow yielding of the roller in the lift-off direction. A spring 12 supports the locking in the working position and assists the movement of the toggle levers into unlocking position at the end of this movement. Load on the holder is taken up in one direction by a collar on the guide column and in the other direction by loading of the toggle levers.
