Abstract

1,056,141. Hoists on vehicles. ABELSON & CO. (ENGINEERS) Ltd. May 3, 1965 [Feb. 1, 1964], No. 4379/64. Headings B8E and B8H. A hoist, pivoted about a vertical axis on a bracket 21 detachably :secured to the load platform of a lorry, comprises a load -support 42 coupled to a lifting carriage 31 which is provided with rollers 33, 34 running on a hollow column formed with flanges 3, 4. The column is provided with brackets 14, which are pivotally connected by a removable pin 18 to a bracket 21 detachably mounted on the vehicle platform, and contains an hydraulic ram 6. A chain 9 extends from the lifting carriage to the ram cylinder and passes over a sprocket on the ram piston.
