Abstract

1,055,066. Reciprocating motors. ELEKTRO-APPARATE-WERKE BERLIN-TREPTOW VEB. Dec. 14, 1964, No. 50881/64. Heading H2A. [Also in Division F1] An electromagnetic oscillating piston pump has a stator assembly comprising two opposing annular permanent magnets 3 surrounding two, series connected A.C. energized, coils 2 axially separated by disc 4 and enclosed by end plates 6 co-operating with a bucket piston 5 which has a valve 7 at one end and reciprocates in a non-magnetic flow tube 1. A suction valve 11 is provided in the tube and piston rings 8 are provided on the piston. The disc 4 has diametral slots extending outwards from its inner periphery to produce at least two opposed areas of reduced cross-section. In a modification the piston may be permanently magnetized.
