Abstract
972,364. Permanent magnet machines. MULLARD Ltd. Aug. 20, 1963, No. 32938/63. Heading H2A. A permanent - magnet, interdigitated - pole rotor' has a series of generally triangular magnets M between axially spaced end-plates each having axially projecting interdigitating - poles P1-P8, and tapered spoke-ribs R1-R8 attached to these poles and serving to prevent circumferential moving of the magnets. The ribs are tapered in an axial and radial direction to reduce leakage from the magnets. Various numbers of poles, magnets and ribs per pole are described. Several such rotors may be mounted, with like poles aligned, on the same shaft. The magnets may be ferrite.
