Abstract

1,054,335. Closures for collapsible tubes. UNIVERSAL METAL PRODUCTS Ltd. June 8, 1965 [June 5, 1964], No. 23369/64. Headings B8D and B8T. A collapsible tubular container of a thermoplastic material such as plasticized P.V.C. or of metal comprises, as shown, tubular body 1 of thermoplastic, a shoulder portion 2 and a nozzle 3 integral with the shoulder portion, the nozzle being integrally attached by a thinwalled tube 4 to a closure 5 which may be detached by cutting the tube 4 to open the nozzle, inverted and then replaced so that a plug 7 recloses the nozzle. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), for a metal collapsible tube, the tube shoulder 8 terminates in a neck 9 which has an external annular groove 10 into which an annular rib on the inner wall of the plastics nozzle 11 snaps.
