Abstract
1,053,539. Heat developable silver halide emulsions. AGFA., A. G. Feb. 21, 1964 [Feb. 23, 1963], No.7345/64. Heading G2C. A light sensitive heat-developable photographic material comprises a silver halide emulsion layer arranged on a support, the emulsion layer being unhardened and free from alkalis and in said emulsion layer or in a colloid layer a 3- pyrazolidone silver halide developing agent and an oligo saccharide such as sucrose, saccharose or maltose. The emulsion layer may contain antioxidants e. g. potassium metabisulphite, ketone or aldehyde bisulphites or hydroxylamine hydrochloride; substances splitting of water on heat e.g. urea, caprolactam, 1 -aryl-2-nitroethanols or 1 -aryl-2 cyanoethanols; water retaining substances e.g. polyglycols orglycarine; matting agents e. g. colloidal silica starch and starch ethers; sensitisers and stabilizers such as 1- phenyl -5 mercapto tetrazole, benzotriazole and 4-hydroxy-6-methyl-1, 2, 3a, 7 - tetraazoindene. The light sensitive materials may be used in the transfer processes of Specifications 953239 and 993598.
