Abstract

[Also in Division C2] A heat-developable photographic material comprises a support bearing one or more hydrophilic colloid layers, at least one of which is a light sensitive silver halide emulsion layer said emulsion layer or a layer adjacent thereto containing (1) a silver halide developing substance e.g. a 3-pyrazolidone and (2) a compound of formula: - wherein R 1 and R 3 represent a hydrogen atom or a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl or aryl group and R 2 represents a substituted or unsubstituted aryl radical or a furyl, thienyl or pyridyl radical or R 1 and R 2 together with the carbon atom to which they are attached, represent a cyclohexane ring and R 4 represents a cyano or nitro group. Specified substituents of the alkyl or aryl radicals R 1 -R 3 are alkyl, alkoxy, nitro, choro or bromo groups. The hydrophilic colloid layers may also contain substances splitting of alkalis or water under the action of heat e.g. sodium acetate, sodium carbonate or sodium sulphate; stabilizers e.g. benztriazole or 1-phenyl-5-mercaptotetrazole and hydrosols of silicic acid. These photographic materials may be used in transfer processes by diffusion of unused developer imagewise to a receiving sheet containing a cobalt leucophthalocyanine.
