Abstract
1,049,493. Hay wafering. MASSEYFERGUSON Inc. Feb. 7, 1964 [Feb. 20, 1963 (2)], No. 5196/64. Heading A2B. The cross-sectional area 22 of the die cells in a hay wafering machine 10 set back at a predetermined cross-sectional area by an hydraulic pressure system comprising pump 40, piping 44, 36, 34, and reservoirs 42, can be temporarily increased through an electrical control circuit for temporarily actuating a solenoid-operated valve 60 in response to a selector switch 70, Fig. 1, or 104, Fig. 2 (not shown), controlled by a motor (as described below); the pressure fluid is pumped to the reservoirs 42 by actuation of the solenoid-operated valve 60, also the manually-operated valves 46 and 52. When arm 68 of selector switch 70 closes with contact 72, electric motor 80 rotates a timer cam 92 which periodically closes the circuit between contact 72 and the solenoid 64. Alternatively, the circuit may be closed by a valve 114, Fig. 2 (not shown) in respense to a predetermined decrease in the vacuum in the intake manifold of an internal combustion engine motor used to drive the wafering machine. The solenoid can be energized, alternatively, by manually closing arm 68 with contact 74.
