Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce power consumption of an electromagnetic valve by disposing a shut-off valve and a pressure reduction valve coaxially and rendering an axial liquid pressure uniform by means of penetration holes through the axes of the valve bodies.
CONSTITUTION: A solenoid 9 moves an armature 10, thereby forcing the first valve body 5 against a hold spring 13 to shut off an inlet port 17 and an outlet port 15. The second valve body 6 is coupled with the first valve to open a liquid path 18, thereby reducing a liquid pressure in the outlet port 15. A pump 19 is driven by a plunger not illustrated to further compress the compressed liquid. The first valve body 5 and the second valve body 6 contain coaxial penetration holes 5', 6' so that an axial pressure of the liquid may become uniform. A power for operating the armature 10 may be required less and therefore, a power consumption of the solenoid 9 can be reduced.
