Abstract
1,048,082. Induction heating coils. HOOVER Ltd. Aug. 7, 1963 [Aug. 9, 1962], No. 30615/62. Heading H5H. An induction heating coil is wound so that in any section through its axis there are conductors at different distances from the surface and comprises a number of separate current paths electrically connected in parallel, each path having parts of its length nearest to the surface and parts further from it. As shown, a coil 20 comprises a number of concentric sections A, B, C, D each in four layers 1, 2, 3, 4, the sections being connected in groups of four such as A1, B2, C3 and D4 to provide four parallel paths (Fig. 2, not shown). Each section is wound in the form of a spiral from flat tape the width of which extends parallel to the axis of the coil.
