Abstract

A fire-fighting appliance comprises an internal combustion engine, e.g. a propeller-turbine, impulse duct engine or gas turbine, and means for injecting a spray of water into an engine tail pipe through which the exhaust gases are emitted, e.g. a centrifugal pump driven by gearing from the engine or by independent means and supplying water to a number of nozzles in the tail pipe.
