Abstract

1,046,772. Valves. HONEYWELL CONTROLS Ltd. April 16, 1963 [April 12, 1962], No. 14284/62. Heading F2V. [Also in Division H2] Two relatively rotatable face cams 15, 16 are urged together by a spring 18, and the cam projections and depressions cause the cams 15, 16 to be forced apart during their relative stepwise rotation until a projection on cam 16 drops into a depression 26 on cam 15 to actuate a valve or (as shown) a microswitch 12 (see Division H2). The projection or movable cam 16 engages a tappet 14 extending through the fixed cam 15 and abutting the valve or switch plunger 13. Cam 16 is movable angularly in stepwise manner by the periodical depression and release of a plunger 22. This plunger 22 acts on cam 16 through a pawl 23 loose on cam shaft 17 and ratchet teeth 24 formed on the back of cam 16. With cam 16 having half the number of projections on cam 15 the valve or switch 12 is opened or closed with successive depressions of plunger 22.
