Abstract
1,046,680. Radio receiving circuits. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. Nov. 6, 1964 [Nov. 7, 1963], No. 45309/64. Heading H3Q. In a television tuner in which a valve R 0 (Fig. 3, not shown) or transistor is used as a mixer at V.H.F. but as an I.F. preamplifier on U.H.F., the I.F. tuning coil L ZF for the U.H.F. range is connected to a tapping point on an inductance L MW forming part of the input circuit for the valve or transistor on the V.H.F. range. The parts of the inductance L MW form, with the input capacity C 9 K and a series capacitor C 3 a bridge circuit whereby interaction between the U.H.F. and V.H.F. circuits is avoided. U.H.F. tuning may be effected by means of a movable core within the coil L MW ; modifications are described in the Specification (Figs. 4, 5, not shown) in which respectively an additional variable inductor is connected in series and in which switch tuning is performed using incremental induces.
