Abstract

1,046,544. Fluid actuation of switches; thermal switches. AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTS CO. Ltd. Jan. 31, 1964, No. 4273/64. Addition to 1,046,615. Heading H2B. In a combined fluid-pressure and thermal switch of the general kind disclosed in the parent Specification snap-action is provided by making the bimetallic element a crimped strip (Figs. 1 to 5, not shown) or a dished disc (Figs. 6 and 7, not shown). Additionally, the pressure-operated contact is modified, being either (i) a piston as in Fig. 1, (ii) a plunger lifted by a flexible diaphragm (Fig. 6 not shown) or (iii) the bimetallic disc acting as the end closure of a bellows (Fig. 7, not shown).
