Abstract

946,771. Pneumatic actuation of switches. BERG AIRLECTRO PRODUCTS CO. April 12, 1960, No. 13057/60. Heading H2B. An air-operated switch comprises a flexible diaphragm 11 clamped at its periphery between two housing members 8, 13 adapted for connection to an air-hose at 15. An insulated disc 9 covers the unclamped area of the diaphragm 11 and has riveted to it a bridging contact 7. When sufficient air pressure is applied the diaphragm 11 flexes to raise the disc 9 and contact 7, against the pressure of a spring 14, and thus bridge the fixed contacts 1, 1a.
