Abstract

1,044,528. Suspending curtains. A. RISHWORTH. March 10, 1964 [Dec. 10, 1962], No. 46447/62. Heading A4B. A curtain support has a wall mounting bracket 1 with a rotatable spindle 3 carrying a lazy tongs mechanism 4 by means of a bracket 6 attached to the spindle by a pin 7 and a guide plate 9 having three flanged wheels 10 which abut the spindle 3 and guide the plate 9 for movement vertically. The mechanism may be extended by pulling on a cord 15 to move an arm 13 and roller 14 abutting a limb 5 of the lazy tongs and the mechanism can be retracted by drawing on a cord 12. The curtain is hung on hook pieces 20 or on a wire secured thereto and wound on to a drum attached to the bracket 1.
