Abstract

1,044,249. Drying webs. SVENSKA FLAKTFABRIKEN A.B. July 7, 1965 [July 13, 1964], No. 28836/65. Heading F4G. Apparatus for drying web- or sheet-like material 1 comprises perforated distribution boxes 2, 3 for the drying medium disposed successively in the conveying direction and perpendicular thereto, in which apertures in the boxes 2 are non-closable and the boxes 3 each have one or more spaced series of permanently open holes 4 and one or more series of holes 5 having individually adjustable members 6 formed of flap valves adapted to close the holes. The holes 4 and 5 in the boxes 3 may be in the same or opposite wall surfaces of the or each box. The adjustable members 6 each control a single hole in each box and are each controlled by a coupling rod 7 actuated by reversing means 8 externally of the apparatus.
