Abstract
1,045,928. Drying sheet material. A. E. MAKINEN. Sept. 24, 1964, No. 38952/64. Heading F4G. Apparatus for drying sheets a of pervious material, e.g. veneers, comprises superposed shelves 1 of corrugated material, on the crests 1a of which the sheets are supported and into one end of the channels 4 therein a drying medium is passed from supply channels (not shown) for passage through the pervious sheet therebelow into the channels 2 lying between the crests 1a of the next lower shelf. The medium is then led through suitable discharge ducts (not shown) which open into the channels 2 on the opposite ends of the shelves. The channels 2 are sealed at the inlet ends by plates 8 (Fig. 7, not, shown). If the channels at the discharge end are not covered by a sheet they are closed by hinged flaps.
