Apparatus for drying ceramic ware 11 comprises a series of superposed spaced annular shelves 10 mounted for rotation about a vertical axis in a housing (not shown), through which shelves hot air is directed downwardly on to the articles through air delivery apertures having jet tubes detachably mounted therein. The tubes may be of synthetic plastic, or of metal screwed or otherwise detachably secured or positioned within the apertures and the internal profiles of the tubes may be cylindrical or of Venturi section. Some of the apertures may be closed off by detachable unbored plugs.
