Abstract

1,044,095. Refractory walls. M. H. DETRICK CO. July 6, 1965 [Oct. 2, 1964], No. 28687/65. Heading F4B. In a monolithic furnace wall of the type shown in Specification 957,286, the inner faces of the anchor bricks formed with alternate ribs and grooves aligned on opposite sides has a smaller cross-section than the adjacent ribbed portion to alleviate spalling of the said inner faces. On one pair of opposite sides of the anchor bricks, the ribs and grooves are smaller in height and depth than the remaining pair. The complete wall. Fig. 3 (not shown), has a monolithic inner layer incorporating the anchor bricks, a central layer of anchor bricks and an outer layer of heat insulation bounded by the metal shell.
