Abstract

1,043,204. Flexible pipe coupling. POWER AUXILIARIES Ltd. Jan. 25, 1963 [Dec. 7, 1961], No. 43880/61. Heading F2G. A brazed or welded joint 3 between a flexible braid covered pipe 2 and an end member 1 having a surface 6 tapering away from the length of the pipe 2 is reinforced by passing the braid over the tapered surface 6, placing a split ring 7, of smaller diameter than the maximum diameter of the tapered portion of the end member, over the braid, folding the braid back over the ring 7 and placing a ferrule 9 over the ring 7 and turned back braid. The ferrule 9 is swaged at 11 to penetrate a recess 12 in the end member and is of a suitable diameter to force the braid lengths into contact with each other and the maximum diameter surface 5 of the end member 1.
