Abstract

1,042,795. Threshing machines. SMEDERIJ -EN GARAGEBEDRIJF G. W. VAN DRIEL N.V. May 12, 1964 [July 29, 1963], No. 19661/64. Heading A1F. A device for picking-up and feeding mown crop into a threshing machine comprises a belt conveyer 4 of which one end is suported on the ground and the other is hingedly attached to the threshing machine, the belt conveyer being followed by a feeding drum 5 which passes the crop into the entry-throat 2 of the machine, the belt-conveyer, in plan view, extending obliquely to the direction of travel of the machine, so that the crop is picked up towards the side of the machine and is fed into the centrally-located throat. In order to turn the crop-stream as it enters the throat, the drum 5 is conical. The beltconveyer is wider than the throat 2 and the drum 5 caries an auger-flight 7 to compress the crop-stream laterally. The free end of the conveyer runs on wheels 3.
