Abstract
1,039,830. Transistor amplifying circuits. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. Nov. 27, 1964 [Nov. 28, 1963], No. 48252/64. Addition to 1,019,270. Heading H3T. In a radio frequency amplifier, particularly for an F.M. transmitter, a variable capacitance diode 3 is included so as to minimize the change in frequency response due to change in level of input signal. The transistor 1 is coupled via a specified toroidal transformer 4 and the capacitance of diode 3 to the common-base (or common-emitter) transistor 2. It is shown that at high signal levels, the change in capacitance of diode 3 compensates for the compression of the power gain at the high-frequency side of the response curve.
