945,509. Transistor circuits. PYE Ltd. Jan. 12, 1962 [Jan. 12, 1961], No. 1337/61. Heading H3T. A transistor amplifier has a semi-conductor diode and a capacitor connected between one electrode of a transistor and a point of zero signal potential, the small signal impedance of the diode being adjustable by a D.C. voltage so as to provide a remote tone control. In Fig. 2A, the negative feedback at lower frequencies is adjustable by variation of the control voltage supplied to the diode 5. In Fig. 4A, the variable impedance diode 5 controls the proportion of lower frequency signals shunted from the base circuit. The lower capacitors are omitted in Figs. 1A, 3A (not shown), so that a control of output at higher frequencies is achieved.
