1,039,799. Aircraft runway lighting. G. E. WEBSTER & CO. Ltd. Nov. 23, 1964 [Nov. 21, 1963], No. 46004/63. Heading F4R. An electric lamp especially for illuminating reflecting marker boards on airfield runways, consists of a casing 1 housing an electric bulb 2 and having a window W for projecting a horizontal beam and a cover 6 with a domed clear top 9 for projecting an upward beam, a shield 10 being arranged round the cover 6 for cutting off glare when viewed from the direction opposite to the horizontal beam. Parabolic reflectors 5, 11 may be associated with the bulb to direct the beams. The base of the casing may have keyhole slots to enable it to be secured to the board in a predetermined position.
