Abstract

1,039,655. Powder distributers. A. BRAMLEY. Oct. 4, 1963 [July 6, 1962], No. 26038/62. Heading A1D. A machine for broadcasting particulate material such as ferilizer, seed, grit or salt comprises a hopper 13 from where material is fed through a duct 16 to a mixing chamber 17 where it is entrained in air and ejected by compressed air from a tank 20 supplied by an air pump 22. An air control valve 19 is adjusted by a handwheel 27. The air pump is driven from a tractor power shaft through a shaft 25 and gearing 24 and a shaft 28 drives an agitator in the hopper through a vertical shaft passing through the duct 16. The material is discharged through an outlet 33 comprising a horizontal array of divergent nozzles which may be replaced by a horizontal slot. For sowing seeds the nozzles are preferably directed downwardly.
