698,656. Fertilizer distributers. HUMBERSIDE AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS CO. Ltd. May 29, 1952. No. 13687/52. Class 6(i) A fertilizer distributer, of the type wherein material is fed from a hopper or hoppers 2 to horizontal, rotating, dished pans 3 from which it is ejected by rotating paddles 7, 8 into delivery tubes. 11, 12, is characterized in that each pan is associated with a pair of paddles 7, 8, and the supply of fertilizer to the pan is controlled by a pair of shutters, individually adjustable to regulate the supply to either paddle, and adjustable in unison to vary the total quantity delivered. The hoppers are mounted on horizontal tool-bars 1 which carry bearings for the worm-shaft 5<SP>1</SP> for driving the pans. The worm-shaft is driven by chain-gearing from a floating land-wheel 27 carried by an arm 26 pivoted about the axis of the shaft. The shaft 9 carrying the paddles is driven from the worm-shaft by a belt-drive 21. Both of the shafts 5' and 9 are sectional and comprise sleeve-like portions 5<SP>2</SP> and 9' enabling the hoppers to be adjusted transversely. The delivery tubes include hoses 12 leading to the ground and supported by rods 16 clamped to the toolbars and looped around the hoses. The shutters 13, 14 are mounted side by side and are adjustable by nuts 13<SP>2</SP>, 14<SP>2</SP>, a deflecting member 15 being also provided to direct material towards the paddle 7. The tool-bars may also carry furrowing tools.
