In a refrigerated display cabinet of the type in which panels of air are circulated across an access opening from nozzles along one edge of the opening to inlets along the opposite edge and are recirculated through separate passages in the cabinet walls, at least one of the passages is subdivided into a first plurality of channels adjacent its inlet and a second plurality of channels adjacent its nozzle, separate conduit means being provided for each intercommunicating a different pair of said first and second plurality of channels. As shown, inner and outer passages 29 and 58 are provided for recirculating air from inlets 55 to nozzles 60 and an intermediate passage is subdivided into channels 50 having inlets 52 and channels 44 having outlet nozzles 56. Channels 50, 44 are defined by sheets 48, 42 respectively and pairs of channels are interconnected by conduits 36 extending in side-by-side relationship across the cabinet. Each conduit 36 is provided with an extension in the form of tubes 68, 66 coupled by a flexible diaphragm 65, each tube 66 communicating with an aperture 40 in one of the plates 42. Wooden spacers 70 are provided for plates 42. In a modification (Fig. 2, not shown) the spacers are formed of resilient material and themselves serve as extensions of the conduits 36 as well as sealing the conduits from the channels through which they extend. A fan 32 and refrigerating means 30 are provided in inner passage 29 and fans may be provided in conduits 36, such fans being operated at a lower speed than fan 32.
