854,621. Pressure exchangers. SPALDING, D. B. March 6, 1958 [March 11, 1957], No. 7972/57. Class 8(1). A pressure exchanger has a plurality of high pressure inlet ducts 8, 12 arranged alternately with low pressure inlet ducts 15, 17 and an outlet duct 16 to lead gas from the cells at an intermediate pressure and an outlet duct 18 at a pressure not higher than the low pressure communicating with the cells immediately following their closure to the duct 16. The gas from the duct 16 may be supplied to a propulsive thrust nozzle and may be combined with the outlet from a further outlet 14. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 788,047.
