Abstract

1, 036, 507. Electrostatic precipitators. PIONEX Ltd. April 24,1965, No. 17380/65. Heading B2J. A discharge electrode of an electrostatic precipitator is formed of a metal strip having discharge points 11 provided on at least one longitudinal edge, each point being defined by intersecting rectilinear sub-edges 12 which merge by way of a radiused portion 13 into either a sub-edge of an adjacent point or an intermediate portion of the edge. The strip may be folded about its longitudinal axis and two or more such electrodes secured together with the points facing outwardly. In Fig. 2 (not shown), the points are set further apart and joined by a shallow curve 14. In Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown), the points are formed by an outer pair of sub-edges 12 set at a smaller angle and an inner pair of sub-edges 15 set at a wider angle, the sub-edges merging, by way of radiused portions.
