Abstract
1295359 Sheet piles; joining metal sheets WENDEL-SIDELOR 23 March 1970 [22 April 1969] 13801/70 Headings E1H and E1K To facilitate oblique disposition of Larssentype piles P1, P2 the adjacent edges thereof are linked by an elongate member R with tapered edges, or "hooking noses", 17, 18. Whereas the angle between surfaces 22, 31 of the nose 18 is substantially equal to the angle a between surfaces 3, 6 on each of the piles, the angle a' between surfaces 20; 30 of the nose 17 is appreciably less than the angle a. Thus, depending upon the angle (a-a'), the angle between the median plane X-X of the number relative to that of the pile with which the nose 17 engagescan be varied, the angular position of the member relative to the other pile being substantially fixed. The longitudinal length of the member may be equal to, or less than, that of each pile. The edge 33 of the member may be welded to one of the piles in a region between its edges, the other pile engaging with the nose 17, Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown).
