Abstract
1,035,039. Switches held set and freed mechanically. CARR FASTENER CO. Ltd. May 15, 1964 [Aug. 27. 19631. No. 33928/63. Heading H2B. An insulating plate 12 bearing one or more pairs of resilient bridging contacts 17a, 17b, is pivoted to a rotor member 6 rotatable with respect to a base 3 carrying fixed contacts, which may be printed circuit contacts, and after the rotor member has been rotated to a selected position a pivoted arm 8 is raised manually to press the plate 12 downwards and cause the contacts 17a, 17b to bridge the base contacts. A click stop device is provided on the rotor plate 6 comprising spring-urged balls 20 engageable in notches 5a corresponding to contacts on the base 3 (Fig. 3, not shown). A domeshaped top 6a on the rotor plate 6 has portions 6c formed with channel-shaped recesses 11 in which engage lateral pins 9 on a lug 10 of the arm 8 when the arm 8 is mounted on the plate 6 (Figs. 6, 7, not shown). Lug 10 normally sits in recess 10a of plate 12, but when arm 8 is raised the lug cams plate 12 downwardly against the restoring spring 15 and is held set in the position shown until arm 8 is lowered again. Ears 16 depending from the rotor member 6 constrain the plate 12 to rotate with the rotor member.
