1,034,730. Gas burners. P. C. PEDDING- HAUS, and W. PEDDINGHAUS, [trading as FIRMA PAUL FERD PEDDINGHAUS]. Dec. 23, 1964 [Jan. 21, 1964], No. 52307/64. Heading F4T. The copper head 1 of a batswing burner is formed with a gas exit slit 2 containing plates or bushes 3 made of a steel alloy containing carbon, chromium, molybdenum and nickel. The plates or bushes may be flush with the gas exit side 1<SP>1</SP> of the burner head (Fig. 1A) or project beyond it (Fig. 1B). The gas ducts may widen out step-by-step and the steps may be lined with opposing pairs of plates, by plates or bushes of different length, or by a one-piece insert. The burner head may also have unlined gas exit apertures which are inclined toward the flame provided by the lined burner slit. The plates or bushes are secured by brazing, welding, screwing or riveting.
