1,032,593. Thermal switches; protective systems. TEXAS INSTRUMENTS Inc. Dec. 21, 1962 [Dec. 28, 1961], No. 48417/62. Headings H2B and H2K. A thermal overload and stalled-rotor protector for an electric motor has a snap-acting bimetal disc 36 carrying contacts co-operating with fixed contacts 28, 30, these all being arranged in a cup-shaped housing also containing a heater 51 between the bimetal and the base of the housing. This heater is intended for connection in series with the start winding of the motor, and a further heater coil 62 in series with the main motor winding is arranged around the outside of the housing, this coil being formed of wire of the same size as that of the main motor winding.
