Abstract

1,030,796. Clips; supporting ceiling &c. boards. F.T. PRODUCTS Ltd. Oct. 2, 1964 [Oct. 8, 1963], No. 39642/63. Headings E1V and E2B. A resilient fastener 10, Fig. 1, of generally U-shape comprises a web 11 and two outwardly elbowed limbs, 12, 13, each limb having an inwardly and rearwardly directed tongue 17 and between the tongue and the web an inwardly directed projection. As shown the limbs 12, 13 diverge from the web to elbows 14, the free end portion 18 of each tongue 17 is reversely bent, and the projections are in the form of lugs 16 directed rearwardly towards the web. The fastener is used to secure ceiling panels 23, Fig. 3, to a metal beam 19, the lugs 16 engaging a tubular enlargement 22 of the beam and the tongues 17 engaging a vertical stem 21 of the beam to give resilience to the limbs 12, 13 so that the ceiling panels are releasably clamped between the elbows 14 and flanges 20 of the beam.
