Abstract

1,186,867. Clips; lining metal sections. BPB INDUSTRIES Ltd. 28 June, 1967 [28 July, 1966], No. 34008/66. Addition to 829,504. Headings E1K and E2B. The fastener disclosed in the parent Specification is modified by forming a limb 6 of the main U-shaped clip 1 with a tongue 7. The fastener illustrated may be modified in that instead of extending limb 4 of the main clip to form the base 12 of clip 3 and limb 8 of clip 2, the base 5 of the main clip may be extended to form the base 9 of clip 2 and the limb 11 of clip 3. The fastener may be formed of mild or spring steel or resilient plastics material. When four such fasteners are used to secure four panels to an I-beam, to enclose the latter, Fig. 2 (not shown), the fasteners are connected together by wires passing through holes 14 and 15. Alternatively, these holes may be used to nail or screw the fasteners to the panels. Each of the clips 2 and 3 may be replaced by two superimposed clips so that the fasteners may be used for joining two short panels in edge to edge abutting relationship on one or more sides of the beam.
