Abstract

[Also in Divisions B2 and F2] A vibrating conveyer constructed as a two-mass system comprises a horizontal conveyer 1 supported by springs 3 and a vibration means 2 including side members 5 housing storage springs 7, the side members and springs being connected by a transverse member 8 and the vibration means being driven from an independent source. The side members 5 are connected to the conveyer 1 by guide springs 6. The mass of the conveyer 1 and the mass of the vibration means 2 vibrate in opposition in the direction parallel to a line through the centres of gravity S k -S g . The vibration may be effected by eccentric or, as shown in Fig. 3, a crank mounted on a cross-web and rotated by a motor and pulley to drive through a spring connection 14 the transverse member 8. The storage springs 7 are mounted on the transverse member 8 and act against plates 10 mounted in the side members; alternatively, these plates may be interchanged with the storage springs.
