Abstract

1,027,930. Valves. AUTOMATIC SPRINKLER CORPORATION OF AMERICA. Dec. 31, 1964, No. 53049/64. Heading F2V. Flow of water from an inlet chamber 11 to an outlet port 26 is controlled by a hollow pistonmember 19, the conical closure surface of which is covered by a gasket 21; the member 19 is slidable in a cylinder 18 and upon reducing or relieving a pilot fluid pressure admitted to the cylinder 18 through a duct 15, the water pressure in the chamber 11 unseats the member 19. The pilot pressure may be obtained from the main supply. A deflector is supported near the outlet port 26 by a number of arms 28, the deflector comprising a conical stud 30 and a disc 31 with radially extending slots 32.
