Abstract

1,027,788. Ignition systems. MOTOROLA Inc. Feb. 5, 1965 [Feb. 10,1964], No. 5128/65. Heading F1B. [Also in Division H2] The interrupter consists of a magnetically actuated reed switch 47, 48 which co-operates with a magnet and the magnetically actuated reed switch controls one or more semi-conductor switches (transistors) 18, 19 to cause interruption of the ignition coil current. In a modificaone of the transistors 18, 19 is omitted. A choke is connected across the emitter and base portions of the remaining transistor. The magnetic rotor 50 may be located in the distributor casing. Instead of a rotating magnet a fixed magnet with a rotating piece of soft iron might suffice. A centrifugal advance mechanism and vacuum advance member may be employed.
