Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of formula <FORM:1026927/C2/1> where R1 and R2 are alkyl (1-4C) or with the N-atom are piperidino or morpholino, and R3 and R4 are hydrogen, halogen, alkyl or alkoxy (1-4C), or trifluoromethyl; acid addition salts thereof; and their preparation by chlorinating a corresponding triphenylethylene, and if necessary heating an intermediate triphenyldichloroethane at 50-150 DEG C. Starting materials additionally prepared are substituted 1 - (p - R1R2N - propyl - phenyl) - 1,2-diphenyl-ethanols. The compounds of the invention are gonadotrophin inhibitors and block cholesterol synthesis. Administration orally, parenterally and topically in conventional manner is mentioned.
