Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of the formula <FORM:0938646/IV(a)/1> and acid addition salts thereof, wherein R1 is hydrogen, chlorine or an alkyl or alkoxy radical and R2 and R3 are hydrogen or alkyl or alkoxy radicals; and the preparation of these compounds by reacting a 1-(R1, R2, R3-substituted)phenyl-piperazine with a 2,3-epoxy-propanol-(1). Substituted phenylpiperazines used as starting materials such as 1-p-butyl-phenyl-piperazine, 1-o, m-dimethylphenyl-piperazine, 1-o, p-dimethylphenyl-piperazine and 1-o,o1-dimethylphenyl-piperazine are made by the reaction of diethanolamine or a 2,21-dihalodiethylamine with the appropriate aniline derivative.
